Naea was an Atlantian researcher specializing in extraplanar research. Naea was an Atlantian researcher specializing in extraplanar research. Before the Calamity she was sent to the now Tournament Ark island, which in the days of the Atlantians was a research base situated inside of the mountain on the island. During the events of the Calamity much of the lab was reduced to ruin, and she was trapped inside of her mirror of the Sprightly plane.
Her research focused on the Sprightly plane, one of the five leaf planes. Officially this was for military or industrial applications, but Naea had a personal scientific interest in the field.
Personality
Even before being locked in the mirror of the Sprightly plane for thousands of years, Naea was aloof and eccentric. Her research partner, Kosma, was frequently annoyed by Naea's perceived lack of seriousness. Naea enjoys being indirect and cryptic with her manner of speaking. After knowing and learning to trust someone for quite some time she may open up more to them and give more information freely.
As a high level Wizard, Naea knows a variant of the True Polymorph spell. After the events of the Calamity, Naea chose to take the form of a fluffy white Persian cat, and seldom transforms back into her original Atlantian form. In her cat form she retains the ability to speak as normal, retains her normal level of intelligence, and still has the ability to cast all spells that she could cast in her Atlantian form.
Appearance/Voice
Naea takes the form a white, fluffy Persian cat.
She speaks like a normal humanoid, but talks slowly. She uses old-fashioned language and speaks vaguely in a way that could be interpreted multiple ways. Her voice sounds sinister and mirthful.
Abilities
Naea is a Wizard capable of casting 9th level spells. She focuses on Transmutation and Conjuration magic.
Residence
After the Elwood Guild won the Tournament Ark and gained possession of Carambola, Naea resides in the Carambola Keep, and can generally be found in the upper level near the bedrooms.
Quest Hooks
Naea knows the location of other Atlantian research bases, and knows much about Atlantian technology and magic. She may be resistant to discuss the information freely, mainly because she finds it funny, but might discuss it if it has some particular interest to her specifically or by trading favors.
